Vision Disturbance tells the story of an immigrant woman’s recovery from an abusive relation, as she forms a mysterious connection with her new optometrist. Her gradual loss of physical eyesight is paralleled with a growing capacity for a clearer vision of her own needs and how to satisfy them. Masciotti is a writer whose every word demonstrates a wonderful capacity to capture the gamut of authentic experience. Vision Disturbance is deeply human; it is full of the love, humour, and heartache that define what it means to navigate the relationships we encounter on this journey called life.
